Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Fifth District announced an arrest has been made in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife) offense that occurred on Friday, May 10, 2019, in the Unit block of New York Avenue, Northeast.

At approximately 7:24 pm, members of the Fifth District responded to the listed location for the report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, members located an adult male victim suffering from a stab wound. The victim and suspect were involved in an argument when the suspect brandished a knife and stabbed the victim. The suspect fled the scene. The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries.

On Thursday, July 11, 2019, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 43 year-old Alimamy Bangura, of Northwest, DC, was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife).
