Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Sixth District have announced an arrest has been made in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) offense that occurred on Monday, March 4, 2019, in the 4700 block of Bass Place, Southeast.

At approximately 1:10 pm, the suspect and victim were engaged in a verbal altercation at the listed location. The suspect then brandished a handgun and threatened the victim. The suspect was apprehended by responding officers.

On Monday, March 4, 2019, 54 year-old Samuel House Barnhart, of Southeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun). A firearm was recovered by arresting officers.
