Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Seventh District have announced an arrest has been made in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) offense that occurred on Monday, December 17, 2018, in the 400 block of Savannah Street, Southeast.

At approximately 8:27 am, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location.  The suspect brandished a handgun and shot the victim.  The suspect then fled the scene. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

On Wednesday, January 16, 2019, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 25-year-old Durrell Johnson, of Northeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun).
